The front portico draws its inspiration from the Temple of Vesta in Rome. The draped figure of The Lady of Wisdom rises atop the dome. Inside, black limestone floor tiles, placed during the past renovations, contain many fossils.

Free guided tours of the capitol Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Please note that guided tours must be scheduled in advance.

Visitors may take self-guided tours during open hours; plaques are located throughout the building.

The building is closed all state holidays.
