
The New Jersey State House, home to the Legislative and Executive branches
of State Government since 1792, is the State's most important public
building. Visitors can walk in the footsteps of Abraham Lincoln and Woodrow
Wilson to discover the building's rich past and architectural history.
Visitors will also learn about New Jersey's legislative process and how to

Self-guided tours are not allowed at the capitol, though access to the legislative chambers to watch the proceedings is permitted. Closed Sundays and state holidays. Share your comments with us! I visited the capitol of New Jersey on Independence Day in route to
the Independence Hall. I was very pleased with the glowing gold on the dome. I
have seen 6 state capitols in total now, 5 of which here toppe with golden
domes... I must say that New Jersey's is the goldest thus far -ttwilliams01@hotmail.com
