Today, the only granite dome of any state house is topped with a gilded bronze statue named Wisconsin. This figure is mirrored on the interior of the dome where she sits on a cloud, cloaked in an American flag and presides over the Resources of Wisconsin.

General hours M-F 8-6, weekends and holidays 8-4.

Guided tours Monday - Saturday 9 - 11, 1 - 4, Sunday 1 - 3.

During the summer months, an additional 4:00 tour is offered on non-holiday weekdays.

All tours are offered on the hour.

Groups of ten or more should make advanced reservations.

The Wisconsin capitol has an outside observation deck at the base of the dome, open Memorial Day through October.
